This private reference site is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, release anyone, or retrieve an official booking record. Please use the responsible public office below for an official answer.
Where to Direct a Request
Use the contact point that holds the record or status you need. Allegheny County does not publish an official public booking-photo roster, and ACJ's policy does not disseminate mugshots to noncriminal-justice agencies. A caller can ask the office what record exists and which access rules apply, but no listed phone route guarantees release of a particular record or image.

Submit a clear request through the sheriff's current Right-to-Know process.
For a formal county request, the Allegheny County Open Records Office accepts requests through its stated channels. Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law generally gives an agency five business days to grant, deny, or extend a response. A request should name the person or incident, timeframe, record type, and preferred format. Records access can be limited by CHRIA, 18 Pa.C.S. Chapter 91, and other applicable exemptions.
The following starting points match the type of record involved:
- For a jail-status or booking-date question, start with ACJ or Arraignment Court using the listed numbers.
- For a former ACJ resident's records, ask the ACJ Record Office what request process and fee rules apply.
- For sheriff-held material, use the sheriff's Right-to-Know route or call the main office for routing.
- For a court disposition or criminal docket, use Allegheny County Criminal Records or the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System docket service.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use the PA DOC inmate locator, which is separate from ACJ custody information.
- For a federal prisoner or immigration detainee, use the official BOP locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator.
